Terminal Units > Intermittent Volume
The Carnes Model AS Intermittent Volume (Parallel Flow) fan terminals are designed for commercial HVAC applications that require accurate temperature control and variable airflow to the conditioned space. The internal fan is energized intermittently on a call for heating from the building zone. Controls modulate the primary air damper to provide the proper amount of blending between the conditioned primary air to the zone, based on demand. Hot water or electric heating coils may be added to provide additional heat while the interior zones demand cooling. Intermittent volume fan terminals provide significant operating savings gained through the recovery of ceiling plenum heat and variable air volume of the conditioned primary air.
